Physical RSI: Can Robots Learn to Learn Better? Framework & Challenges

Researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and collaborators propose the Physical RSI framework, defining L0-L5 levels of recursive self-improvement for robots, distinguishing task capability updates from improvement process evolution, and identifying six key challenges including reliable physical feedback, causal attribution, non-stationarity, reward hacking, safety preservation, and benchmarking recursive gains.
