AI Era Engineer Development: A Technical Salon on Talent Cultivation

On June 11, Baidu Technical Salon will host a forum on "Engineer Development in the AI Era," featuring Baidu Intelligent Cloud senior engineer Zhang Miao and experts from academia and industry. The event will comprehensively explore engineer cultivation from multiple perspectives including educational exploration, professional qualities, and career development paths.

The forum addresses the critical challenge facing software R&D enterprises: how to achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement through talent development in an era of intensified industry competition, rising costs, and industrial upgrading. With AI intelligence driving transformation across both software/internet and traditional industries, engineer cultivation has become a key topic.

The event features five expert presentations:

1. "Software: People-Centered" by Zhang Miao, Senior R&D Engineer at Baidu Intelligent Cloud. Zhang Miao, author of "The Art of Code," holds a PhD from Tsinghua University and has extensive experience in internet protocol research and network infrastructure development. He initiated the BFE open-source project, which was accepted by CNCF as a Sandbox Project in June 2020.

2. "Exploration of Software Engineering Education for Undergraduate Computer Science Students" by Professor Pei Dan from Tsinghua University's Computer Science Department. Professor Pei Dan specializes in AIOps (AI-powered intelligent operations and maintenance) and has published over 100 academic papers and 20 US patents in this field.

3. "Discussing Software Engineer Professional Qualities from a Quality Perspective" by Professor Zhu Shaomin from Tongji University. Professor Zhu is a CCF senior member with extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance, having served as Senior QA Director at Cisco (China) and chaired various IEEE academic conferences.

4. "Code Monkeys and Scout Rules - Professional Qualities of Qualified Programmers" by Han Lei, Vice President of Research and Production at Bright Dream Robotics Group. Han Lei is a renowned translator of technical books including "Dreaming in Code," "Clean Code," "UNIX: A History and a Memoir," and "The Art of Clean Code."

5. "How Can Go Engineers Grow?" by Xie Mengjun, CEO of JiMeng Intelligent and founder of the GopherChina community. Xie Mengjun is a world-renowned Go language leader, Go Foundation chairman, and author of the open-source framework Beego and "Go Web Programming."
